Turning your patio into an entertainment zone is a snap with outdoor bar stools that are practical and attractive. There are a few things that you should consider before purchasing your outdoor stools so that you can make sure that you get the perfect pieces to complement your patio or outside space.

Consider how much space you have to devote to your new purachse. Will you be setting them up next to a large bar? Or perhaps setting them up as stand-alone seating surrounding an entertainment area? When you take your available space into consideration, you will be able to determine which ones will be a perfect fit. If you select options that are too big, you run the risk of overcrowding what should be a fun and relaxed part of your home. On the other hand, if you pick out stools that are on the smaller size, you run the risk of them being overshadowed by other items in your entertainment area. Your out-door stools should be a beautiful accompanying feature to the rest of your outdoor decor.

Where will your chairs be placed? Will they be placed directly next to a bar counter? Or will they provide stand-alone seating surrounding a fire pit or even a pool? Perhaps they will be placed on a balcony? Consider the height of your stools when thinking where you will be placing them. If they will be next to a bar or other outdoor fixture then you will be better served getting counter height or adjustable ones. However, if they will not be at a counter then you may want to consider something a little more comfortable and opt for options with backs that can be easily used anywhere in your patio space.

You should also keep in mind what your current theme is. Would contemporary ones be a good fit? Or would rustic styling fit in better? If you are just starting out decorating, you might be able to find the perfect pieces that you can build the rest of your theme around. It can often be a lot easier to build a theme around the perfect furniture pieces than it is to find the perfect furniture to fit in with your existing theme. However, there are also many great stools that are neutral in appearance and can smoothly be integrated into your current setting.

Will your outdoor bar have any protection from the elements? While you should, ideally, cover everything when it is not in use, you may find that some are just not perfectly suited for the outdoor elements, even if you plan to cover them. Unfinished surfaces, for example, could quickly warp and sustain damage during a rainstorm.
